Chuck Quick started studying Lotus under Ajarn Precha Mahachanavong, the founder of Lotus, at the Mahachanavong School of Lotus Self-Defense in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand when he lived there in 1973.

Chuck earned his black belt under Ajarn Precha.  He later married a Thai national and the two of them eventually moved to Spokane, Washington where they opened a Lotus school called Washington Self-Defense School.

Chuck passed away in 1990, but not without first helping to spread Lotus throughout the Northwest.
